Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals implements EROS

Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals NHS Trust are currently implementing the EROS e-Procurement system. The system is being delivered via the CAPS EROSNet hosting service and will be used at all sites throughout the Trust.

The implementation project is well underway and the Trust will be ready for Go Live by 1st April 2005. In addition to full eProcurement functionality, including remote requisitioning, authorisation and vetting, electronic order generation and despatch, receipting, and management reporting, the implementation will include full materials management utilising the latest PDA's for capturing stock levels and automatically re-ordering top-up stock for each department.

Caroline Simpkin, Head of Procurement at the Trust, explains that "The EROS system will replace all current methods of obtaining goods and services. Having a single source of procurement data will support managers in managing their budgets, finance staff in accounting for expenditure and procurement staff in maximising purchasing leverage, thus helping the Trust drive through efficiency savings. With a multi-site trust, being able to transmit requisitions electronically will speed the ordering cycle and we envisage that EROSNet will provide a platform for the development of a more robust and streamlined procurement service that meets the requirements of the Trust's staff and nationally set targets and standards."
